The state institution of the Tula region "Department of Fire Service" (GU "UPS of the Tula Region") was created by Decree of the Administration of the Tula Region dated September 16, 2008 No. 570. The subject of the Office is the implementation of special and managerial functions in the field of fire safety in the Tula region and the coordination of the activities of the territorial divisions of the fire service of the Tula region.
The main areas of activity of the institution were:
- organization and implementation of fire prevention in settlements of the region, as well as in organizations owned by the Tula region;
- rescue of people and property in case of fires;
- organization and implementation of fire fighting and emergency rescue operations;
- assistance and rescue in accidents, natural and man-made emergencies;
- rapid response to natural and man-made accidents and emergencies.
- solving tasks in the field of civil defense, emergency response in emergency situations, including emergency humanitarian response in the Tula region.
The structure of the Office includes regional fire and rescue units, as well as units providing the activities of the 112 service, the All-Russian Integrated Public Information and Warning System, unified duty dispatch services, and emergency monitoring and forecasting.
On the territory of the Tula region, 59 fire departments of the State Unitary Enterprise of the Tula Region, stationed in remote rural settlements, operate.
