Donut Lab CEO Marko Lehtimäki said the company's goal is to create electric vehicles so advanced that internal combustion engines become irrelevant. The presented battery has an energy density of 400 watt-hours per kilogram, which is about twice the figure of typical lithium-ion batteries used in. cars Tesla

Production of the first solid-state batteries for electric vehicles has been launched. They charge in 5 minutes

The device can withstand up to 100 thousand full charging cycles and retains more than 99% of capacity at temperatures from -30 to + 100 degrees Celsius. According to the developers, the battery does not ignite when damaged, and the materials used are widespread, which reduces the cost and environmental burden compared to traditional lithium-ion counterparts.

The first production vehicle to use the new battery will be the Verge TS Pro electric motorcycle. The updated model is scheduled for delivery to customers in the first quarter of 2026. With a solid-state battery, the range of the motorcycle will increase from 350 to 600 km. The full charge time will be less than 10 minutes. Verge Motorcycles explained that they deliberately limited the charging speed so that users had time for a short break.
