2023: Start of edible cups production in Russia

At the end of November 2023, it became known about the launch by Drin and IT of the production of edible biodegradable containers into which you can pour coffee, ordinary water, etc. According to the developers, 250 ml cups without deformation hermetically hold contents with a temperature of up to 80 degrees for 40 minutes. For yogurt, coffee, tea or hot chocolate, sweet cups are offered, for soups and salads - salty and garlic-flavored.

As explained in Drin and IT, oat bran, which opens when heated, is used in the production of cups. In this case, the glass becomes sealed, and the taste of its contents does not change.

The founder and general director of Drin and IT LLC is Ekaterina Voronkova, candidate of medical sciences, member of the all-Russian public organization Delovaya Rossiya, scientific director of R&D with financial support from the Innovation Assistance Fund as part of the implementation of the innovative project "Development and creation of an automated line for the production of edible biodegradable containers for drinks and food." Cafes, coffee shops, fast food restaurants, catering companies and gas stations are considered the main buyers of their products at Drin and IT.

According to Ekaterina Voronkova, the company is going to develop its business: in particular, it is planned to produce biodegradable containers of a different shape and with different tastes.

We want to add different spices, make another smaller volume, and also start making tartlets, "she said.

According to Voronkova, white flour tartlets quickly soak up, and the startup's containers can keep their shape for 24 hours or more.^[1]
