2022: Shutdown due to high gas and electricity prices during the crisis in Ukraine
The energy crisis during the conflict in Ukraine forced in November 2022 the largest glass manufacturer Duralex in French Orleans to suspend work for 5 months until April 2023, BFM TV reports.
As explained in the company itself, the halt in production was caused by an increase in gas and electricity costs from 3 to 13 million euros, which deprived the company of 46% of its annual turnover.
