2021: Start of production of titanium filaments implants
In July 2021, the Elastic Titanium Implants Company (ElTI LLC) launched the production of titanium micro-wire products, which are widely used in surgery.
According to the official website of the Mayor of Moscow, the production of titanium microwire products is unique not only for Russia, but also for the world. ElTI began to manufacture products from titanium microconductors with a diameter of up to 50 microns.
Investments in the project are estimated at $2 million, and production capacity - 50 kg of titanium microwire and up to 3 thousand finished medical products per year.
ElT LLC is a resident of the Mosmedpark biomedical site. The company produces a thin surgical mesh material ("Titanium Silk"), designed to strengthen soft tissues and is used in hernioplasty (surgical hernia treatment), gynecology and dentistry.
The company also makes threads from titanium (seam material). They are used in strip surgeries to connect damaged tissues. Titanium filaments have good biological compatibility with tissues and do not cause toxic, allergic and other adverse reactions.
Developments are protected by several patents both in Russia and abroad. By mid-July 2021, work is underway to certify products in foreign markets where there are no analogues of the products produced.
According to the manufacturer, titanium implants existing by July 2021, despite their high biocompatibility with body tissues, do not have optimal adaptive and biomechanical properties. Elastic implants based on titanium microconductors reduce tissue injury and solve this problem. Titanium does not corrode or disintegrate over time - which opens up new possibilities for surgical use in organs and tissues with an aggressive environment.[1]
