The main activities of ELSI Ltd is creation of automated systems for city and railway transport and electronic payment systems.
In 1992 ELSI Ltd together with St. Petersburg Metropolitan developed an automated system of control of payment of journey in the St. Petersburg subway using magnetic cards. Now a system is implemented in the subway in 65 lobbies, data processing center and in the center of work with preferential passengers, 550 tourniquets of new type are set and 250 automated jobs of the cashier are equipped. In 2002 transfer of the subway on payment of traveling with tickets on the basis of contactless smart cards is finished.
