2020: Beginning of work of Enterprise Cloud Management Office
In April, 2020 the U.S. Army announced work of new management of Enterprise Cloud Management Office which is responsible for implementation of cloud services in military structures.
Paul Puckett, the former technical director of Pivotal Software who was responsible in the company for contracts with bodies of the federal government directs division. Also he headed about six years IT department of the National agency of geospatial investigation (National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency).
On a post of the head of Enterprise Cloud Management Office Pakett will be responsible for "uniform vision and providing cloud services and resources in army to turn information into a global strategic asset", the press release says. New management became the central resource "for fall forward, efficiency and effectiveness of projects of transition to a cloud environment".
By April, 2020 the American army continues program implementation of Cloud and Data Migration Plan assuming large-scale migration of applications, data and processes in cloud infrastructure. This initiative will work till 2022 financial year.
As notes the FedScoop edition, the structure of Enterprise Cloud Management Office was created in November, 2019, and was going to start it in full in March of the 2020th. The management earned in April, however because of a pandemic of a coronavirus of COVID-19 of the power did not manage to appoint people to some new positions in division.
Paul Pakett and the Chief information officer of U.S. Army Bruce Crawford said that the pandemic did not change plans concerning Enterprise Cloud Management Office for 2020. Moreover, it promoted quicker to implement conceived and to adapt to new conditions, they noted.[1]
