Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA) — the non-profit consortium created in February, 2017 which participants are engaged in search of opportunities of application of blockchain technology on the Ethereum platform in real business.

The alliance integrates the largest international companies, such as Sberbank, CME Group, Credit Swiss, DTCC, ING, JPMorgan, Santander, UBS, Accenture, Deloitte, Intel, Microsoft and also IT startups and research organizations. EEA creates the innovative technologies which will provide to the companies the new level of confidentiality of data, reliability and scalability of transactions.

2017: Entry of Sberbank into EEA

On October 18, 2017 Sberbank announced the accession to Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA). Thus, the first Russian bank joined this non-profit organization.

Besides, to Sberbank the only Russian company in alliance was Qiwi, developing the payment system of the same name.

Sberbank entered in блокчейн-консорциуì Enterprise Ethereum Alliance

The senior vice president of Sberbank   Igor Bulantsev  noted that the entry of bank into EEA will allow to expand cooperation between the companies in the field of development of a blockchain of Ethereum.

The bank will have an opportunity to influence process of improvement of the platform and its development in the corporate sector. I hope, our union will even stronger strengthen our relations with Ethereum Foundation and will serve as an important step to development of Blockchain technology in Russia — he reported.

At the end of 2015 Sberbank announced plans to enter the international blockchain consortium R3, however in April of the 2017th the Kommersant newspaper wrote that the request of bank was rejected because of the international sanctions.
