2020: Imprisonment of employees for illegal performing abortions
On September 21, 2020 Tverskoy Court of Moscow found guilty of rendering the services which are not meeting safety requirements and illegal holding a procedure of termination of pregnancy Natalya Stolbovskaya and Dzhamalutdin Aydemirov. They were sentenced to 4.5 and 3.5 years of colony respectively. They were detained in the courtroom.
As reported in court, Stolbovskaya being represented by the qualified gynecologist who, however, was not, performed consultation of clients, provided medical care on medicamentous termination of pregnancy, examining them and appointing acceptance of the medicines applied to termination of pregnancy on early terms.
According to RIA Novosti, Stolbovskaya has no higher or specialized secondary medical education, did not undergo accreditation of the medical specialist. By victims recognized three women, one of whom at that time was a minor.
By court it is established that Stolbovskaya leased the non-residential premises belonging to her on the property right on 3rd Tverskoy-Yamskaya Street in Moscow of Evroklinik LLC which CEO is Aydemirov, for rendering medical services in obstetrics and gynecology (including on abortion). Aydemirov performed functions of the administrator of clinic, meeting visitors and directing them to Stolbovskaya for delivery of health care.
Stolbovskaya and Aydemirov are found guilty of commission of three crimes provided by the Paragraph "and" of Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (rendering the services which are not meeting safety requirements of life or health of consumers), Stolbovskaya is also found guilty of commission of three crimes provided by Part 1 of Article 123 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal production of abortion by the person who does not have the higher medical education of the corresponding profile).[1]
