2023: Establishment of the Centre
Minister of Health RFMikhail Murashko signed an order to create a federal competence center for virtual (VR) and augmented reality ( AR) technologies in Russia on the basis of Samara State Medical University. The press service of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation announced this on June 27, 2023.
The main tasks of the center will be to coordinate the activities of educational organizations subordinate to the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation on the development of digital educational and methodological complexes, training simulators, simulators based on virtual and augmented reality technologies, the development of recommendations for the content and technical component, as well as recommendations for the revision of these products.
In addition, the competence center on the basis of the Samara State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia will accompany the introduction of digital educational and methodological complexes, training simulators and simulators based on virtual and augmented reality technologies used in educational activities by organizations subordinate to the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. The competence center will have to create and ensure the operation of a unified electronic information environment, including information technologies, technical means and electronic information resources, which contain electronic methodological materials about products.
Also, the responsibilities of the center will include the formation of proposals for the Ministry of Health on the use of products in the educational process and in the procedure for admission to the professional activities of medical workers.
According to the rector of SamGMU Alexander Kolsanov, the university has already developed its own line of VR devices: simulators for the rehabilitation of patients after strokes, in cerebral palsy and other diseases, simulators for restoring smell, as well as training simulators for working out various skills in virtual reality - tracheostomy, inspecting the fundus and providing emergency assistance.
Such simulators allow you to repeatedly work out skills without harm to real patients. Based on many years of accumulated experience, we will be able to qualitatively perform the functions of the federal center of competence in this area, "he said.[1] |
