2023: Opening of the centre

In early June 2023, a federal children's rehabilitation center was opened in Podolsk near Moscow. About 6 thousand patients a year will be able to receive modern specialized care here.

According to the Kremlin press service on June 1, 2023, together with Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko and Governor of the Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyov, President RFVladimir Putin examined the consultative and diagnostic center, the hydrotherapy unit, the school zone for social and psychological rehabilitation, a gym with medical equipment and wards for inpatient stay of patients.

The Federal Children's Rehabilitation Center (FDRC), built within the framework of the national project "Health," will accept for treatment children and adolescents aged one month to 18 years with severe chronic and complex pathologies from all regions of Russia. The day and round-the-clock hospital, consisting of seven rehabilitation departments, will provide care to more than six thousand patients every year. The FDRC became part of the hospital of the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital of the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia.

In the first days after the opening, we received 30 children - in the departments of neurorehabilitation and somatic rehabilitation. Now the individual programs of medical and rehabilitation measures are coordinated, all the methods that we have will be used, including simulators and a pool. Within a month, we will reach full workload - this is 200 beds of a round-the-clock hospital, of course, together with our parents, - said the chief physician of the RDKB Ekaterina Aleksandrovna Putilina in early June 2023.

Initially, 4.09 billion rubles were planned to be allocated for the creation and equipment of the FDRC, then the cost of work increased to 4.7 billion rubles.[1]
