2019: $14 million for construction of pilot lines of production of artificial meat

On October 12, 2019 TAdviser knew that the Israeli company Future Meat Technologies attracted financing in the amount of $14 million for construction of pilot lines of production of artificial meat.

The Future Meat Technologies company developed technology of cultivation of meat from cages of animals in special bioreactors. Among advantages of this technology in comparison with traditional livestock production reduction of greenhouse emissions (for 80%), the occupied earth (to 99%) and uses of water resources is noted (up to 96%). At the same time it is noted that the taste of artificial meat will not differ from this beef or mutton.

For October, 2019 the company works on decrease in cost value of artificially grown up meat. The financing for the amount of $14 million attracted from several venture firms (S2G Ventures, Emerald Technology Ventures, Tyson Ventures, Bits x Bites, etc.), will be directed to construction of production sites which will allow to reduce the manufacturing cost of the cultivated meat. The company is going to lower production costs of 1 kg of artificial meat to $22 within two years.

These investments will allow us to pass from cultivation of meat in laboratories to cultivation at the plants and also to begin to work with industrial partners over an output of our product to the market, told the director of Future Meat Technologies Rohm Kschuk[1]
