2017: Salary payment in bitcoins

In December, 2017 GMO Internet announced salary employee benefits in bitcoins. The company is going to extend an innovation to all the branches and affiliated enterprises.

According to the message published on the website GMO Internet in February, 2018 employees of the company will begin to receive salaries in bitcoins. In  March more than 4 thousand employees will be able to receive a part of salary in cryptocurrency: minimum payment in bitcoins will make 10 thousand yens ($88), maximum — 100 thousand yens ($881). Supporters of salary in bitcoins will be in addition awarded for 10% of the amount transferred by the employer in cryptocurrency.

The company is sure that such approach to salary payment will allow to increase interest in digital coins among employees and will push them to deeper studying of cryptocurrency and the processes accompanying it.

Our employees will be able to get paid in bitcoins if they want it. Thus we hope to achieve improvement of skills of the address with cryptocurrency which will form on the basis of individual experience of each of employees, says the Japanese telecommunication giant.

Added to GMO Internet that transfer of all personnel of the company to receiving salary in bitcoins is planned. It is not only directly about the staff of the company, but also employees of 42 affiliated enterprises.

In May, 2017 the GMO Internet company began the trade and stock exchange trading with cryptocurrencies, and in a month started own business — a cryptofarm for mining of bitcoins.

Japan where GMO Internet business is concentrated, is one of the friendliest in relation to cryptocurrencies of the developed countries. For example, in it it is possible to pay with bitcoins purchase  of tickets,  the check  in retail store and to be calculated for  the electric power.[1]
