Thuraya Telecommunications, an international mobile satellite operator, together with GTNT announced in May 2012 the start of providing mobile satellite services in Russia.
According to the company, covering more than 140 countries, the Thuraya satellite communication network guarantees reliable, secure and affordable communication, especially in remote areas and rural areas, which are often not served by terrestrial networks. Thuraya's list of services includes high-speed data services, marine and voice services, which are specifically designed for markets with a vertical structure.
Through its partnership with GTNT, Thuraya is preparing to provide uninterrupted satellite communications services to federal, departmental, and corporate users in, power,, oilchemical,, social, and construction logistic forestry and landscape broadcast market segments.
