2021: Telefonica bought Geprom
At the end of December 2021, Telefonica Tech acquired Geprom. The companies decided not to disclose the financial component of this transaction.
Through this deal, Telefonica Tech will strengthen the capabilities of its Internet of Things (IoT) and Big Data division, headed by Gonzalo Martin-Villa, and strengthen the company's position in the key industrial sector.
By the end of December, Geprom has more than 40 industry experts, the company has a strong network of partners and customers, whom it accompanies when developing and integrating turnkey projects in the areas of planning, production, quality control, logistics and specialized services.
The digital development of the industrial sector is one of the priority areas of Telefonica Tech's business with a portfolio of high-value-added products and services, which include not only sensor and data analysis to create truly connected enterprises, but also the use of cloud technologies, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity solutions to help companies become more efficient, competitive and sustainable.
