2025: Seed plant launch for ₽2,8 billion
The Golden Cob agro-industrial holding put into operation the first two stages of the Golden Cob Khokholsky breeding and seed center in the Voronezh region with a total investment of more than ₽2,8 billion and a production capacity of over 50 thousand tons of products per year. The company has created 50 new jobs and is capable of providing up to 15% of the needs of Russian farmers in corn and sunflower seeds, while the launch of the third stage is scheduled for 2026. According to Kommersant, the selection and seed center is located in the village of Seventy and is a full-cycle production and scientific base. The readiness of the first two phases of construction exceeds 90%, the final launch is scheduled for the end of 2025.
Artem Malyshev, General Director of National Strategic Assets JSC, which includes the holding, noted that the project was a strategic step towards the technological independence of the Russian agro-industrial complex. According to him, the site will become a center of competence for breeding and seed production of the country.
The Governor of the Voronezh Region, Alexander Gusev, stressed that the project ensures not only the growth of the region's economic indicators, but also has a positive effect on its reputation. Gusev expressed gratitude to the company's management for investing in the region.
Deputy Minister agriculture Russia Andrei Razin noted the importance of the integrated approach of the project - from selection developments to the formation of commodity batches of a high-quality product. He stressed that the emergence of such centers is a decisive task for the Ministry of Agriculture.
The center combines an ISTA certification and quality control laboratory, a selection and research laboratory, a drying and purification complex and automated seed processing lines. The complex includes climatically controlled warehouses with a modern logistics system.[1]
