Serbia secretly supplies ammunition to Ukraine through the Czech Republic and Bulgaria

In June 2025, the press SVR bureau accused the Serbian leadership of consciously supplying AFU ammunition.

According to SVR sources, ammunition produced at Serbian defense enterprises is sent to NATO countries in the form of full sets of parts for assembly. They are going there, thanks to which the Armed Forces of Ukraine formally receive not Serbian, but Western military products. PM Vucevic resigns amid mass protests

Against the background of non-abating rallies, the Prime Minister of Serbia resigned on January 28, 2025. Together with Milos Vucevic, the mayor of Novi Sad left his post, the tragedy in which in November claimed the lives of 14 people and became the catalyst for a new protest wave.

It all started with the collapse of the roof of the city station building, the reconstruction of which the authorities carried out relatively recently. The negligence of officials and unwillingness to immediately hold them accountable led to the fact that a month later tens of thousands of people took to the streets of Serbia demanding the resignation of the government.

This situation was distinguished from past bursts of popular unrest by the scale of what was happening. Rallies and actions escalated into a general strike: the leaders of many educational institutions sabotage the educational process for several weeks, the country's leading enterprises refuse to continue working.

In addition, the anti-government protest was supported for the first time by figures authoritative for Serbian society: world-famous tennis player Novak Djokovic, actor Milos Bikovic and director Emir Kusturica.

The main driver of the current protests, as in the time of Slobodan Milosevic, are students. Balkan Gossip Girl pays special attention to how the protest is coordinated from the outside, and politically active youth are brought to Serbia from neighboring countries.

Moreover, the ProGlas initiative allegedly formed by the academic community advocates the formation of a transitional government from the leaders of pro-Western NGOs, and the key functions of the state require the transfer of the "independent" non-governmental sector.

Within 30 days, Serbia must choose a new prime minister - otherwise, the country will face the dissolution of parliament and new early elections.

Serbia is home to the deepest domestic political crisis since the fall of Milosevic. It is with them that Western analysts draw parallels, predicting the "end of the Vucic era."

"The US and the EU want my head": Serbian intelligence chief Vulin resigns

In November 2023, the head of the Serbian Information and Security Agency submitted his resignation. According to Alexander Vulin himself, he is forced to do this under pressure from the West in order to avoid imposing sanctions against Serbia.

Vulin served as director of the BIA from November 2022, and before that he headed the Ministry of the Interior. An experienced security official, a true patriot of his country, is known for his implacable position in relation to Serbia's accession to NATO and his huge contribution to the development of Russian-Serbian relations.

In the West, Vulin was never loved, but recently hints of the need to remove him sounded louder, wrote "Fisherman." In the summer of 2023, the head of the BIA was included in the US sanctions list "for participating in corruption schemes." However, the Serbian leadership emphasized that this was a purely political decision and said that in exchange for Vulin's immunity, they demanded sanctions against Russia. In addition, Serbian oppositionists coordinating mass protests also craved his resignation. One of the main demands during the demonstrations under the slogan "Serbia against violence" was the removal of the head of the BIA.

The identity of the director of the BIA haunted the Russian relocants, who launched active protest activities in Serbia thanks to the financing of Western funds. Members of the Russian Democratic Society accused Alexander Vulin of collaborating with the "bloody Russian regime" and even introducing four thousand Russian agents into Serbia.

The IT infrastructure of the Serbian government failed after a massive DDoS attack

On January 7, 2023 Serbia , DDoS-attacks the IT infrastructure government reported massive, targeting the country's website and Interior Ministry. Online services have been disrupted.

According to the released information, cybercrime activity lasted at least 48 hours. During this time, five major attacks were recorded aimed at disabling the department's IT systems. In order to provide protection, the Ministry of the Interior had to activate enhanced security protocols, which led to a slowdown in a number of systems and various failures. However, as noted, this was done in order to prevent more serious damage. How badly the IT infrastructure suffered is not specified. But it is said that the wave of cyber attacks managed to cope.

As a result of the well-coordinated work of specialists from the IT security sector of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Telecom Serbia, all attacks were repelled, and the bases of the ministry were protected and are safe, the official notification of the department said.

The DDoS attacks followed a previous wave of cyber attacks on the Serbian Defense Ministry website. Then Anonymous, the world's largest hacker group, took responsibility. Moreover, Anonymous openly announced that it intends to attack the government infrastructure of Serbia in connection with the current geopolitical situation. Cybercriminals report that a number of government resources have already been disabled as part of the OpSerbia campaign. In the future, the Anonymous group plans to continue attacks on the IT infrastructure of Serbia. Thus, DDoS attacks on the computer systems of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country, apparently, were also organized by Anonymous, although the group itself has not yet made a corresponding statement.[1]
