2022: Loss of $100m due to cyber attack
American clothing and underwear manufacturer HanesBrands lost $100 million in sales due to a cyber attack. This became known on August 11, 2022.
The company came under ransomware attack in May. In its report for the second quarter of 2022, the company said it lost $100 million in net sales, $35 million in adjusted operating income and 8 cents in adjusted earnings per share.
The attack temporarily affected the company's global supply chain and limited its ability to fulfill customer orders for about three weeks. Whether the company paid the ransom, not reported[1].
