2024: How Hill's is cheating Russians

Since February 6, 2024, by order of the Rosselkhoznadzor, the import of feed from the Italian enterprise Hill's into Russia has been stopped. This decision was made in connection with the supply of low-quality products, the ministry said in a statement.

According to the Rosselkhoznadzor, according to the results of an inspection of enterprises in the feed sector in November 2023 Italy , its specialists revealed violations both in the work of the competent department of this and in the states work of the producers of feed products themselves. The inspection showed the lack of laboratory control over the component composition of the feed declared on the labeling, insufficient temperature treatment of the raw materials during the production of feed, as well as the lack of information and documents on the origin of the raw materials used in the production of food for cats and dogs.

In addition, DNA from undeclared plant components: peas, soybeans and rapeseed were found in Hill's Science Plan cat food. The manufacturer of "premium" feed misled consumers by replacing meat components with vegetable ones in order to reduce cost, the Rosselkhoznadzor said.

Earlier, the Telegram channel Mash reported that pet owners massively complain to Rospotrebnadzor about the American animal food Hill's due to the presence of worms in it. Hill's Pet Nutrition Russia itself stated that they did not receive complaints about the quality of products, all feed supplied to Russia.

All Hill's products supplied to Russia are manufactured in Europe in accordance with the requirements of Russian law. We are aware of discussions in the media regarding Hill's feed, the manufacturer said in a statement.
