Hoffenheim (TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, football club)

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (German TSG 1899 Hoffenheim)  — the German football club. Is the most "IT" club of the world as his sponsor is the billionaire Dietmar Hopp, one of founders and shareholders of SAP AG company. The club represents the former village Hoffenheim (the population of 3000 people) which nowadays is the district of the city of Zinskhaym, the State of Baden-Württemberg. In a season 2008/09 club play in Bundesliga.

History

2008: Transition to the highest division

The season 2007/08 passed for Hoffenheim very successfully: the second place in the Second Bundesliga and transition to the highest division of the German soccer; a quarterfinal in the Cup of Germany. In this season the record of the Second Bundesliga on the amount for the football player's transfer was set: To Eduard it was purchased for 8 million euros. In total the amount invested by Hopp in club since 1989 is estimated at 150 — 200 million euros.

2007: Transition to the Second Bundesliga

In a season 2006/07 Hoffenheim took the second place in Regionallige and passed into the Second Bundesliga. An exit in league led above to the fact that the new stadium was necessary for club (the old "Stadium of Dietmar Hopp" was expected 6000 viewers). 2008/09 club will carry out the first half of a season at stadium in Manngeym, from the second half 2008/09 in Zinskhaym will be the new stadium expected 30,000 viewers.

2000: Transition to Oberligu and a victory in it in the first season

In 2000 Hoffenheim won Ferbandsligu, passed into Oberligu where won first place in the first season.

Thus, in a season 2001/02 club reached the third division  — Regionalligi ahead of whom in Germany there are only both Bundesligas. In a season 2001/02 club took the 13th place in Regionallige, in seasons 2002/03 and 2003/04  — the fifth, in 2004/05  — the seventh, in 2005/06  — the fourth.

In a season 2002/03 Hoffenheim for the first time were successfully qualified in the Cup of Germany on soccer. Having won against Groyter Fyurt in 1/32 finals (4:1), they were stopped by Cologne in 1/16 (1:5).

2003/04 was a season in which about "rural club" under patronage of the billionaire all Germany learned: in the Cup of Germany Hoffenheim beat Eintracht Trier (4:3), Karlsruhe (4:0), the Leverkusen Bayer (3:2  — the first official match of hoffenkhaymets against the representative of Bundesliga) and reached a quarterfinal in which conceded to Lubeck (0:1).

1996: Transition to Ferbandsligu

In 1990 — 1996 Hoffenheim played Landeslige (Landesliga, the 6th division), in 1996 the club managed to win also this league, having passed into Ferbandsligu.

1989: A departure in the lowest league. The co-founder of SAP begins to sponsor club

Till 1989 played Betsirkslige (Bezirksliga, the seventh division in modern German soccer). In a season 1988/89 took the last place in the seventh division and took off for Kreisklasse A.

After a departure in the lowest league, the co-founder of SAP billionaire Dietmar Hopp in youth playing for Hoffenheim, began to sponsor club. First it selected 10,000 DM for new balls and the training equipment. In a season 1989/90 club won the Kraysklasse tournament and returned to Betsirksligu in which for the next season also won first place.

1899: Foundation of club

The club was founded in 1899.
