IBM opens representation in Azerbaijan

On March 5, 2015 the IBM corporation announced opening of new office in Baku. Expansion of presence in this region is performed according to an initiative of IBM directed to strengthening of positions of the company in emerging markets around the world by providing the advanced solutions and services to the growing ecosystem of clients and partners. The office will concentrate the efforts on customer interaction on such strategic directions as analytics, cloud computing, mobility, social interaction and also infrastructure solutions.

"IBM pays much attention to activity in emerging markets as we perfectly realize the opportunities given by high growth rates and more and more competitive market. Our current strategy of expansion of a regional scope is successful and long-term, and Azerbaijan is represented to us the key direction of this work", - the CEO of IBM in emerging economies Eray Yuksek emphasized.

Azerbaijan is one of the most fast-growing markets in the region thanks to the national economic policy focused on creation of steadily developing and diversified economy by 2020.

"Reformative economic growth of Azerbaijan causes demand for advanced technologies as the companies aim to become more effective and competitive. The modern solutions delivered to IBM in this market will open a new stage in development of this fast-growing economy", - the CEO of IBM in Azerbaijan Kravtsov Ilya added.

"Opening of office IBM in Azerbaijan and its further activity will promote implementation of national strategy for attraction of foreign investments into the sphere of ICT of the country, expansion of partnership between world vendors and the local companies and also to strengthening of their potential", - the Deputy Minister of Communications and high technologies of Azerbaijan Elmir Velizade noted.

IBM has a number of the acting clients in Azerbaijan where the interests of the company are concentrated in the field of IT services, banking and public sector, the telecommunication industry and manufacturing industries. Among clients there is IBM in this region: International bank of Azerbaijan, Azersun Holding, AzeriCard and others.
