2019: Gagarin Capital invested in R & D ID
Gagarin Capital and GSR Ventures invested in IDR & D, a biometric technology provider. The company develops voice and behavioral biometric technologies using artificial intelligence, as well as technologies for protecting against imitation of voice and face. The company announced it would raise $5.7 million in Round A.
The round, which takes place against the background of the rapid introduction of ID R & D authentication technology and the growth of the company, was attended by a new investor GSR Ventures and increased its share of the current investor Gagarin Capital. In 2018, ID R & D doubled the number of customers and opened its headquarters in California. In the first quarter of 2019, the company also increased its customer base by 25%, including Google, Alibaba and Samsung use the company's services. The money from the current round will be used to hire engineering teams, as well as for marketing and international sales.
With the rapid growth of the conversational interface (CI), companies are increasingly aware of the need for authentication solutions that should become not only convenient, but also secure. Secret questions, voice, text, or e-mail passwords are all quite complex logins. Obviously, today these mechanisms are not only inconvenient to use, but also remain vulnerable to intruders. As customers increase their interaction with technology through intelligent assistants, chat bots, IoT devices, and mobile and web applications, businesses are looking for ways to offer better user experiences. Now the goal of each company is a quick, accurate, and ideally inconspicuous check of customers.
"We have repeatedly heard from our customers that ID R & D's technologies and solutions stand out against others due to a significantly simplified user interface and authentication security," said Khitrov Alexey, CEO of ID R & D. "According to the Grand View Research forecast, the volume of the voice and speech recognition market will increase to almost $32 billion by 2025. Authentication should not only work on multiple platforms, but also be both convenient and secure. We aim to maintain a leading position in the market, thanks to new scientific research and the support of current investors and customers. " |
