2025: Company Establishment

The International Reinsurance Company (IPC) with an authorized capital of ₽20 billion was registered in Moscow on January 14, 2025. This is evidenced by the data of the unified state register of legal entities (USRUL). The new organization was created to expand reinsurance opportunities in the Russian market.

According to FrankMedia, Olga Kryukova, who has significant managerial experience, has been appointed CEO of IPC. Before taking up the new position, she headed the companies Allyansstroy, Trade East and Virage. In accordance with the data of the unified state register of legal entities, access to information about the founders of the company is limited, and reinsurance is indicated as the main activity.

International Reinsurance Company (IPC) established in Moscow

The creation of IPC is a significant event for the Russian insurance market, where, after the departure of Western companies, there was a shortage of reinsurance capacities. An expert in the field of reinsurance in an interview with Interfax noted that the issue of the appearance of an additional player in this segment has been discussed in the professional community for several years.

According to the publication, as a result of the imposition of sanctions against Russia in 2022, most of the existing reinsurance contracts were re-registered with the Russian National Reinsurance Company (RNPK). This organization, created in 2016 and 100% owned by the Bank of Russia, has accepted almost the entire risk portfolio in the Russian market.

RNPK, being the largest participant in the reinsurance segment in Russia, specializes mainly in corporate property reinsurance. Currently, the company is under sanctions restrictions by the United States, the European Union, Great Britain and Canada, which significantly affects its international activities.[1]
