History

2018: Acquisition by Columbus company

In January, 2018 the Columbus company announced completion of acquisition of the Swedish IT company iStone proposing to customers of the business application and solutions of eCommerce. The broadcast of 100% of authorized capital iStone was confirmed by all 238 shareholders of the company. According to Columbus, as a result of this transaction the company took the leading positions in the eCommerce market in countries of Northern Europe and entered the market of Sweden. Transaction amount at the same time is not disclosed.

As reported, the consolidation Columbus and iStone will gradually take place within the next several years. More than 600 highly qualified specialists of iStone will enter into staff of Columbus that, as expected, will promote maintenance of positions of Columbus in the market in the northern region. At the first stage iStone will continue usual activity and also together with Columbus will begin work in spheres of business, new to itself. iStone will develop under the "iStone a Columbus company" brand.

By Columbus estimates, acquisition of iStone allowed to increase income and number of staff of the company by 50%. After purchase of iStone the total quantity of staff of Columbus reached 2 thousand people who are in 19 countries of the world. As result, the company expanded the global presence in the market according to the intention to become the international strategic partner for the customers who are going to carry out digital transformation of business.

Examination of Columbus in the field of business applications and IT services will be added by competences iStone in the field of eCommerce and ERP solutions, and the general focus of the companies at work with clients from production areas, the food industry, retail and distribution will allow Columbus to offer a complete portfolio of solutions to the customers worldwide.
