2024: Claim from the Institute for Internet Development for 1.6 million rubles
Institute for Internet Development (IRI) filed a lawsuit in the Arbitration Court Moscow against LLC "Igrofest" (IGM brand) in the amount of 1.6 million. rubles This became known on June 28, 2024. The organization accuses the company of appropriating the remaining government funds after the implementation of the project, allocated for the creation of content on the Internet.
The lawsuit was filed on May 7, 2024, and the next hearing in the case is scheduled for July 23, 2024. According to the IRI, "Igrofest" received the support of the organization to create content in the blogosphere following the results of the competitive selection in 2021.
According to Kommersant, after the implementation of the project, the company provided closing documents in which the declared and actual expenses corresponded to the contract. However, a random review of the original documentation carried out within a three-year period after the closure of the project revealed a discrepancy.
According to IRI General Director Alexei Goreslavsky, the Igrofest team had to notify the organization that less funds were spent on the project than planned and return them, and not spend them at its discretion after the contract was closed.
According to Kommersant, IGM is one of the largest video game communities in the CIS with a total audience of more than 7 million users on VKontakte, YouTube, TikTok and Telegram.
The publication emphasizes that this is the first time that IRI files a lawsuit against the winner of the competitive selection to create content. Usually, the organization prefers to solve such problems in pre-trial order.
Lawyers note that in addition to the arbitration proceedings, Igrofest may face a criminal case. Georgy Davidyan, Executive Director of Media-NN Law Firm, explained:
It can also be about falsifying documents, since the recipient of the subsidy provided false reports. In this case, a criminal case on fraud may be initiated.[1] |
