2023: Plans to restore the plant for 100 million rubles
On February 4, 2023, it became known about the decision of the authorities of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) to restore the Ingaz plant, which produces inert gases, in particular neon, used in the manufacture of microchips.
It is planned to restore the Ingaz inert gas plant - this is neon and other rare gases that are needed in the chemical and electronic industry. These are very rare gases, our plant can occupy 10-15% of the global market share for the production of these gases. The investor was determined. We hope that during this year the enterprise will be launched, "DPR Prime Minister Vitaly Khocenko told TASS. |
According to him, about 100 million rubles are needed to restore the enterprise. At the same time, Khocenko did not specify who would invest these funds.[1]
2022
According to Reuters, by the beginning of 2022, Ingaz supplied from 15 to 20 thousand cubic meters of neon per month to customers from Taiwan, South Korea, China, the United States and Germany. 75% of supplies were used in the creation of semiconductors.
In March 2022, the two leading suppliers of neon - Ingaz and Krioin - which account for about half of the world's gas supplies, ceased operations. Sergei Polovnikov, head of the Content Review analytical agency, told RIA Novosti that this will lead to an increase in chip prices, which, in turn, will affect the cost of the equipment in which they are used.
In July 2022, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said that Russia would be able to produce up to 10% of the world's needs for high-purity neon by the end of the year, and up to a quarter in 2023.
