Institute of Robert Koch (German Robert-Koch-Institut, RKI) — the federal institute of Germany on studying infectious diseases and intolerable diseases located in Berlin. Is one of the central research establishments of Germany and submits to directly Federal Ministry of Health.
The institute was founded in 1891 as scientific department of the Prussian Royal Institution of infectious diseases. From the moment of its basis and till 1904 the famous microbiologist Robert Koch directed institute.
