History
2017: JVC brand's entry into the medical technology market
In February 2017, JVC Kenwood announced the launch of the JVC brand into the medical device market. It will replace the Totoku brand, the rights to which went to JVC Kenwood as a result of the purchase of Totoku Electric IT-Business in 2013.

2013: Buying Totoku IT-Business
On July 1, 2013, JVC Kenwood closed a deal to buy Totoku Electric IT-Business. The Information Equipment Business unit, which produces medical monitors among other products, was acquired.
As part of that deal, JVC Kenwood also acquired a subsidiary, Totoku Nagaoka. As a result, JVC Kenwood began competing with medical device market giants such as GE Healthcare, Siemens Healthcare (formerly called Siemens Healthcare) and Philips Healthcare.
1927: Founding of the Japanese division of the American company Victor Talking Machine
The company, called the Victor Company of Japan (later shortened to JVC), was founded in 1927 and was originally a Japanese division of the American Victor Talking Machine Company. The first JVC products were radio components and electronic beam tubes.
