Jacobs University Bremen (JUB) was founded in 2001 as a private English-language non-profit university.
According to 2021, more than 1,500 students come from more than 110, and countries about 80% moved to Bremen to study. Regardless of disciplines and national boundaries, they study, research and live on campus in Bremen-Nord. Research projects at Jacobs University are financed German by the Research Foundation or Framework Program for of the European Union Research and Innovation, as well as world companies. Bremen Jacobs University employs more than 420 staff in management, research and teaching.

2021: Unification of SIT and JUB universities in Europe to create an analogue of MIPT and Innopolis
Schaffhausen Institute of Technology (SIT) announced that it has become the largest shareholder of the University of Bremen Jacobs (JUB). The partnership between SIT and Jacobs University is expected to promote interdisciplinary science, technology and education in Europe and beyond.
