The attackers managed to steal hundreds of gigabytes of confidential information, including internal company documents, software source codes, as well as personal data of employees and partners.

The Hellcat ransomware group claimed responsibility for the invasion. During the hack, the attackers used the credentials of one of the LG Electronics employees who had access to Jaguar Land Rover's Jira server. The Jira platform is a workflow management tool for software development teams: the system is necessary for efficient planning, process optimization, progress tracking, coherent work and analytics. In total, cybercriminals stole 350GB of Jaguar Land Rover information from servers.
