At the end of July 2021, a telecom operator from Thailand Jasmine Telecom Systems (JTS) announced the launch of a new business -. mining bitcoin The company expects to become the largest miner in the countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asia ASEAN).
The Thai telecom operator will install 500 bitcoin mining machines from September to November 2021. In 2022, JTS plans to tenfold its mining activities, installing another 5,000 machines in partnership with Jastrel Network at industrial facilities throughout Thailand.
JTS President Dusit Srisangaoran said:
Now is the right time for JTS to invest in Bitcoin mining, given its widespread worldwide distribution. We also take into account the incident in China, as a result of which the hashrate fell to an eight-month low. |
Based on these statements, it becomes clear that Mr. Srisangaoran has long planned to engage in Bitcoin mining, entering the case at a time suitable, according to many miners, and this immediately after the Chinese ban and a significant fall in the hashreat.
JTS plans to launch 50,000 machines into the network, increasing the scale of its work by 100 times before the next decline in the Bitcoin exchange rate. This will increase grid power by about 5 exaheshes (1 exhash is 1 quintillion of hashes), which, even by the standards of the next halving, will be an impressive percentage of the global mining capacity and will make JTS the largest bitcoin miner in Southeast Asia. At this scale, JTS will be able to extract about 16,000 bitcoins per year.
It is assumed that the production of bitcoins will become the basis of JTS strategy for the development of new service businesses, which will contribute to stable income and constant growth.[1][2]
