Danish IKEA intends to open 100 shops in Moscow
The furniture retailer Jysk who is called the Danish competitor of IKEA, intends to develop actively in Moscow. The company set the task to open in the city of 100 shops. An exit trade to regions will directly depend on results of work in the capital.
The furniture retailer Jysk intends to open about 100 shops in Moscow. It was said by the representative of the company on development in Russia David Tuganov, RIA Novosti writes. Now in the capital three shops of retail chain stores work already. The company considers 15 more locations for placement of outlets, Tuganov added. In three of them shops can open until the end of the year.
At the same time at the moment Jysk has no plans to leave to regions of Russia. "The decision will be made after results of work in Moscow are visible" — the representative of retailer specified.
Opening of shop in Moscow
On June 3, 2020 Jysk returned on the Russian market, having opened shop in Moscow. It is located in shopping center "Troyka" in Krasnoselsky district.
About the beginning of work in Russia Jysk reported on the page in Instagram. In the same place it is specified that the company sells the goods not only offline, but also in own online store.[1]
In honor of opening Jysk offers clients of a discount for separate groups of goods till June 24: so, the prices of mattresses, garden furniture and goods for a garden are reduced on value to 50%, on sofas and cabinets — to 30%.
The retailer intended to enter the Russian market in April, 2020 (in addition to Shopping Center Troyka, opening of shop in one of buildings of the commerce and industry zone "Altufyevo" was planned), however because of COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic date had to be postponed. The Jysk shop hall in Moscow is equipped by sanitayzer, the personnel are provided with masks and gloves, and the marking for observance of a social distance is applied on a floor.
In the long term Jysk intends to open about 200 shops across all Russia. The company is going to open a minimum on 10 shops every year, since Moscow and the Moscow region. Earlier furniture retailer already made attempts to be fixed in the Russian market, but they were unsuccessful.
By the beginning of June, 2020 the Danish competitor of IKEA (it is also often called "the Danish IKEA") works in 53 countries (including at Ukraine and Belarus), it has more than 2.9 thousand shops worldwide.
2005-2007
In 2005 Jysk opened shop in Moscow in the area Zhulebino. Then it was going to open about 20 shops in Moscow and area, but in 2007 the network left Russia again.

The first shop on the franchize Jysk opened in 1996 in Moscow and was closed in 1998.
