2021: Raising $13 million from Shenzhen MTC
In early February 2021, Kivi announced a $13 million investment from Chinese electronics manufacturer Shenzhen MTC. The funds received will be used to develop the new Smart TV line by a Ukrainian company.
In particular, the investment will be aimed at developing new hardware and software solutions for significant performance growth and the implementation of a number of innovative technologies, new design solutions, as well as improving image and sound quality, Kivi said.
Shenzhen MTC president Forest Ou said the company had been eyeing the Kivi brand and its team for several years. Particular interest was focused on the annual growth dynamics of the manufacturer, its successful expansion into European and Asian markets, as well as on a professional approach to product development and business, he said.

Kivi promises that the results of a "very deep collaboration" with Chinese partners will be presented in the new product line (read: TV lineup) this year. These fruits of cooperation should provide "a very powerful impetus and bring business to a completely new round of development," and consumers are promised a better product that exceeds all their expectations. More specific plans by early February 2021 were not disclosed.
According to Kivi's own data, in 2020 the company delivered about 380 thousand new TVs. In 2021-2022 it is planned to increase the volume of production to 500 thousand and 2 million devices, respectively. Shenzhen MTC shipped 12.5 million TVs in 2020.[1]
2019: Online store opens at Tmall site
On December 26, 2019, it became known that the international brand KIVI opened an official store on the Tmall trading platform (operating on the basis of AliExpress Russia).
