History
2021: Attraction of $13 million from Shenzhen MTC
At the beginning of February, 2021 Kivi announced attraction of $13 million investments from the Chinese producer electronic engineers Shenzhen MTC. The received means will go for development of a new line of Smart TV by the Ukrainian company.
In particular, investments will be directed to development of new hardware and software solutions for essential increase in productivity and implementation of a number of the innovative technologies, new design solutions and also improvement of image quality and a sound, specified in Kivi.
The president of Shenzhen MTC Forrest Ou said that the company looked narrowly several years at the Kivi brand and its command. A particular interest was chained to annual dynamics of growth of the producer, its successful expansion on the European and Asian markets and also to professional approach to development of a product and business, he noted.
Therefore our company made the decision is more focused to interact with Kivi, to share with them the examination and resources. Such strong mix of initial factors gives us complete confidence in success of our joint project — Forrest Ou told. |
Kivi promises that results of "very deep collaboration" with the Chinese partners will be provided in a new product line (read: lineup of TVs) this year. These fruits of cooperation should provide "very power pulse and bring business to absolutely new round of development", and promise consumers the best product exceeding all their expectations. More specific plans by the beginning of February, 2021 do not reveal.
According to own data of Kivi, in 2020 the company delivered about 380 thousand new TVs. In 2021-2022 it is going to increase production volume to 500 thousand and 2 million devices respectively. Shenzhen MTC in 2020 shipped 12.5 million TVs.[1]
2019: Opening of online store on the platform Tmall
On December 26, 2019 it became known that the international KIVI brand opened official shop on trade the platform Tmall (works based on AliExpress Russia). Start of sales on a marketplace will allow the company to expand the direction online of sales and to continue strategy implementation of satisfaction of key requests of consumers.
