History

2013

In 2013 HNEU was appropriated a name of Semyon Kuznets - Order No. 1425 was signed by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine on October 14, 2013.

2004

On August 21, 2004 the university is given the status National.

1980-1994

Since the end of the 1980th. The institute expands a range of the directions of training of students, passing to training of specialists on the international economy, finance and banking, personnel management, etc. 1994 the institute received the status of the state economic university.

1956-1960

In 1956 - the 1960th. At HIEI the research laboratory headed by the prof. O.G. Liberman on industrial economy worked. The proposals of her scientists created based on researches were the basis for the concept Economic reforms of 1965

1920-1930

1920 beginnings day of the Soviet reorganization: in 1921. HKI was renamed into institute of the national economy, and, at last, during reform of the higher education of 1930 are separated. Based on its faculties industry universities with departmental subordination were created. Based on industrial faculty the Kharkiv engineering and economic institute was formed on October 30, 1930. This date officially is considered foundation date of HNEU. HIEI trained engineers-economists for the industries of the heavy industry of the Soviet Ukraine.

1912-1916

In 1912 the prof. M.V. Paliyenko initiated a public initiative - at school an evening High commercial school was open. Founders of rates led by commerce adviser by I.K. Velitchenk applied extraordinary efforts for creation of the highest economic educational institution. Teachers and the curriculum of rates initially conformed to high standards. On rates training of specialists in the field of commerce, local economy was provided, bank and a finance, and training of commercial specialists for industrial enterprises was provided. In 1916. The State Duma to rates provided the status of Commercial institute.
