2024: Raising funds for the introduction of industrial robots
At the end of October 2024, it became known that the Kanash Carriage Building Plant received a loan of ₽47,7 million from the Chuvashia Industrial Development Fund at 1% per annum to robotize welding processes and modernize production.
According to the official Internet portal of the authorities of the Chuvash Republic, the funds will be used to purchase and introduce eight welding robotic complexes into the technological process. Automation will improve the quality of parts and reduce the percentage of scrap.
The company, operating since 2020, specializes in the production of freight cars and components. In 2023, the plant produced 5145 wagons. As part of the modernization project, KAVAZ also plans to master the production of fitting stops of a welded structure for fixing large-tonnage containers during the movement of trains.
The new production area is designed to reduce dependence on a single supplier of stops and optimize the cost of production. The loan was provided under the "Update" program of the Industrial Development Fund.
In 2022, the company has already demonstrated successful results in improving production efficiency. After the introduction of the tools of the national project "Labor Productivity" at the railcar trolley production site, production increased by 25% in six months.
Optimizing production processes also reduced assembly time by 11% and reduced WIP by 40%. Modernization of production with the introduction of robotic complexes will be the next stage in the technological development of the enterprise.
The implementation of the project will help strengthen the plant's position in the car building market and increase the competitiveness of products by automating production processes.[1]
