2021: Corza Medical bought Katena Products

On December 2, 2021, Corza Medical announced the purchase of Katena Products and its ophthalmic surgery assets. This is one of the first acquisitions for Corza Medical, which was created in early 2021 by investment giant GTCR to fight monopolists in medical technology.

The acquisition extends the portfolio of surgical products, adding a significant range and infrastructure to the ophthalmic surgery segment. Corza Medical was formed as a result of the merger of Surgical Specialties and TachoSil. Corza Medical CEO Dan Croto called Katena a brand with decades of credibility and clinical relevance in ophthalmic surgery. Kroto emphasized that this acquisition of Katena Products allows you to fulfill the company's mission by offering high-quality products that allow customers to maintain, improve and restore the vision of their patients.^[1]
