Kiev national university of Taras Shevchenko

The Kiev national university of Taras Shevchenko is the classical university of research type conducting modern scientific training center of Ukraine. In the conditions of development of the independent Ukrainian state the new responsible tasks were set for the university. Future specialists should differ in profound professional knowledge and capability creatively to think, awareness of huge responsibility for good reason and readiness for selfless work.

Only higher educational institution with the long history of achievements and progress both in pedagogical, and in scientific activity can cope with such mission. On April 1, 1994 the Decree of the President of Ukraine L.M. Kravchuk No. 176/94 to the university provided the status "national", and on November 25, 1999 the autonomous status of the university is significantly expanded by the new Decree of the President of Ukraine L.D. Kuchma No. 1496/99. On May 5, 2008 the Decree of the President of Ukraine V.A. Yushchenko No. 412/2008 which provides conversion of the university to the main educational scientific center of Ukraine on preparation of the scientific and pedagogical and scientific personnel of the top skills is issued. On July 29, 2009 the resolution of the Cabinet of Ukraine No. 795 to the university provided the status of an autonomous research national higher educational institution, the strengthened financing of programs of perspective development of the university is provided.
