On June 22, 2022, eBay announced the purchase of the KnownOrigin NFT marketplace. The company did not disclose the value of the transaction. KnownOrigin presents itself as a non-interchangeable token (NFT) platform.

According to the NFT markets tracker DappRadar, by June 23, 2022, KnownOrigin is the 12th largest NFT marketplace, with 5,189 NFTs sold at a total value of $7.8 million. The site allows artists to sell the work they create as verified digital assets using blockchain technology that makes digital ownership possible. Using the service, artists can digitally sign their work by creating a tokenized certificate, allowing them to attract and sell their work to a global audience. According to Pitchbook, KnownOrigin raised $6.22 million. Investors include Cross Culture Ventures, D1Ventures, Genesis Block Ventures, LD Capital and MetaCartel Ventures.
