The skating center "Kolomna" is the ice arena with a total area more than 70 thousand square meters. Opening of the center took place on May 31, 2006. The author of the project of the skating center is Nodar Kancheliya.
The complex contains in itself a sports and training complex, the medico-recovery center, the pool with saunas and a jacuzzi, game, training halls, the hall of aerobics, a conference room for 470 places, a winter garden, cafe, open stadium, administration rooms and archaeological exposure, the museum of history of speed skating and the museum of skates.
Based on the center pupils of Children's and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve "Kometa" – sports school of Russia are engaged. The skating center – a universal sports construction in which athletes do 18 sports: speed skating, short track, a spidskeyting, curling, figure skating, swimming, track and field athletics, table tennis, big tennis, chess, basketball, volleyball, streetball, five-a-side, rhythmic gymnastics, ballroom dances, badminton, sudomodelny sport and also can take part in mass improving driving.
