2024: Raising $200,000 in investments

At the end of March 2024, it became known that the Kazakhstani startup kook, which develops a platform for ordering products to restaurants, attracted investments in the amount of $200 thousand. At the same time, the company received an estimate of $2 million.

Its founder Azat Myrzagaliev spoke about the kook project. He cites data from Susan Analytics, according to which one of the three new catering outlets closes in the first year after opening, while less than 20% of establishments live to the fifth year. Myrzagaliev claims that one of the reasons for the observed trend is the high cost of products for the hotel and restaurant business (HoReCa). This, in turn, is due to the complex and opaque process of searching and interacting with suppliers. The kook platform is designed to solve problems.

The system, the startup says, simplifies the process of finding and ordering products for cooks. At the same time, owners of establishments and managers get the opportunity to increase the transparency of interaction with product suppliers. The platform is integrated with customer accounting systems, which eliminates the possibility of errors for suppliers.

Eight IT specialists are working on the creation of the kook platform as of the end of March 2024. A mobile application is used to work with the service. Through it, chefs have access to a list of regular suppliers with a list of products. If necessary, the buyer can leave comments. After placing an order, the supplier receives a notification in Telegram or by mail, and also sees a request in his personal account. Any provider can connect to the platform for free. At the same time, the kook service earns money by providing additional services to suppliers: this is, in particular, the integration of the site with accounting and accounting systems for automatic receipt of orders and creation of invoices.[1]
