The Kronstadt Maritime Library traces its history back to August 10, 1832, when the Naval Library was opened in the premises of the Noble Assembly in Kronstadt. By 1913, the book fund totaled 67,281 names and 110,245 volumes. The library was one of the richest in Russia and was considered the pride of the Baltic Fleet. In May 2024, the library is visited annually by more than 15 thousand people, more than 50 book and art exhibitions are designed, more than 130 cultural events are held for residents of the Kronstadt district of St. Petersburg.
