The Lace company (LEYS LLC) develops and operates the wireless global energy efficient network of the same name. Engineers of Lace take part in work of committees of Alliance LoRa. Which members are such companies as IBM and Semtech and also other organizations working in spheres of telecommunications, microelectronics, program development, system integration — from startups to multi-national corporations.

2015: "Lay's" were made by IoT network for 30 million
On October 21, 2015 it became known of plans of Lay's company for development and expansion of a scope by IoT network - Internet of Things of the territory of a number of the large cities of the Russian Federation.

According to the statement of the company, the IoT network functioning since the beginning of 2015 in Moscow and St. Petersburg by September, 2016 will be stretched to the cities:
- Voronezh,
- Yekaterinburg,
- Innopolis,
- Kazan,
- Krasnoyarsk,
- Kaliningrad,
- Nizhny Novgorod,
- Rostov-on-Don,
- Stavropol,
- Tver,
- Chelyabinsk,
- Yaroslavl.
The operator will provide availability of network to 30 million fellow citizens living to 11.5 million apartments and private houses. The area of a covering will exceed 9 thousand sq.km.
"Imagine miniature sensors which are built in usual to us a thing, work without recharge for 20 years and are capable to transfer data "by air" to tens of kilometers — Igor Shirokov the CEO of Lace told. — Our network allows to connect such devices among themselves. In a number of the cities the beginning of operation of network will be dated for creation of pilot zones in which we test new technology together with producers of end devices and system integrators. The Lace network provides "konnektivnost", i.e. receiving and data transmission, for any devices supporting the open LoRaWAN standard and allows the third-party companies to create new or to make more available already existing services in the field of Internet of Things and M2M".
The network from Lace belongs to the category of "energy efficient networks of a wide range" — LPWA. Emergence of technology in the Russian cities opens to the companies working in spheres of system integration, instrument making and production of the software, new opportunities for business:
- 11.5 million apartments and private houses are a considerable audience for rendering services of wireless data collection from counters of electricity, gas, a hot and cold water, creation of smart homes, installation of intellectual fire-prevention and security signallings.
- 9 thousand sq.km — the platform for project implementation in spheres of agriculture, monitoring of an ecological situation, tracking of vehicles, insurance business, warning of emergencies and "the smart city", and also remote control geographically distributed assets.
- 30 million people — potential users of such services as personal tracking of vehicles, children's control, condition monitoring of health and others.
According to forecasts of analysts, by 2019 Internet of Things will become the world's largest market on number of the sold electronic devices, advancing the markets of smartphones, personal computers, tablets, portable gadgets and "smart" cars combined. Economic effect of development of the IoT-sector will be $1.7 trillion.
