2024: 7-year-old dies while treating teeth under anaesthesia

On June 13, 2024, it became known about a tragic incident in Krasnoyarsk: a 7-year-old child died during dental treatment under anesthesia in private dentistry. The incident occurred on June 12, when the boy and his mother arrived from the Bolshemurtinsky district to visit a dental center in Krasnoyarsk.

According to the network publication "NGS24.RU," the child had to be treated and cleaned of teeth, which were supposed to be carried out under anesthesia. According to the visitation, the boy had a disability, and before the procedure, the mother provided all the necessary test results. The anesthesiologist confirmed the absence of contraindications for anesthesia.

After the introduction of anesthesia, the child's saturation fell sharply. Doctors at the clinic tried to resuscitate the boy, but their efforts were unsuccessful. The ambulance team that arrived pronounced the death of the child.

On the fact of the incident, the department of the Investigative Committee for the Leninsky District of Krasnoyarsk opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - causing death by negligence due to improper performance by a person of his professional duties.

Investigators in the medical institution seized all the necessary documentation, as well as the drugs used during the procedures for the child. A forensic medical examination has been appointed to establish the exact cause of the boy's death, the Investigative Committee said.
