The Legislative Assembly is the representative and only legislative body of state power of the Tver region. Located in the city of Tver.
History
2023: Composition. Competence
As of August 2023, the Legislative Assembly of the Tver Region consists of 40 deputies elected on the basis of universal, equal and direct suffrage by secret ballot for a period of 5 years.
The competence of the Legislative Assembly includes the adoption of regional laws and other regulatory legal acts, the implementation of legislative regulation on the subjects of jurisdiction of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation and the subjects of joint jurisdiction of the Russian Federation and the constituent entities of the Russian Federation within the powers of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation. The Legislative Assembly, in accordance with the Charter and laws of the Tver region, exercises, along with other authorized bodies, control over the observance and implementation of the laws of the Tver region, the execution of the regional budget, and also exercises other powers provided for by law.
