In October 2015, the Central Bank revoked banking licenses from the Forest Industry Development Bank (Lesbank). Lesbank, the Central Bank indicated, pursued a high-risk credit policy and did not create adequate reserves for possible loan losses for the accepted risks, in addition, the financial institution was involved in dubious transit operations.

2025: Recognition of ex-CEO Sergei Nikitin bankrupt with debts of 1.4 billion rubles
The Moscow Arbitration Court has completed the bankruptcy procedure of the former chairman of the board of Moscow Lesbank Sergei Nikitin. This was announced in August 2025 in the court ruling posted on the website. The court released Nikitin from further fulfillment of creditors' claims, including creditors' claims not stated when introducing the sale of a citizen's property. The document says that claims in the amount of 1.4 billion rubles were included in the register of creditors of the debtor, of which 454.3 thousand rubles were repaid. Read more here
