2024: Problem with the car park system. VIDEO
In early September 2024, reports began to appear on the Internet that the automatic parking system in popular Chinese Lixiang cars in Russia was causing serious failures. Machines behave inadequately, creating emergency situations.
The parking system allows you to control Lixiang cars remotely using a smartphone. To use the function, the driver just needs to stop in front of the selected parking space, leave the vehicle interior and give the parking command. Further, the car will independently perform the necessary maneuvers, moving forward and backward. Built-in cameras, radars and other sensors also allow Lixiang cars to find the right parking spot on their own.
However, videos began to appear on the Internet, clearly demonstrating that the parking system in Lixiang cars is terribly stupid. One of these records, for example, shows how the driver left the car, giving the command to put in the parking space. After that, the car began to slowly reverse, but could not drive into the empty seat, despite the fact that there were no other vehicles around. Having made several unsuccessful maneuvers, the car unexpectedly began to move forward and drove onto the roadway, where it interfered with other traffic participants several times. One of the motorists even had to stop completely, as the actions of the Lixiang autopilot could turn into an accident.
As a result, the owner of the car was able to drive the network and take control. Meanwhile, social media users are wondering if it is worth releasing drones on public roads if even relatively simple automatic parking systems do not cope with their tasks.[1]
