2024: Restart of the former Bosch plant in the Saratov region
In the Saratov region, the former Bosch plant resumed work, which now produces elevator equipment. The launch of production took place on August 1, 2024 at an enterprise under the auspices of METEOR Tech in Engels.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Saratov Region, the plant has launched the production of two types of reducerless winches - for elevators with and without a machine room. It is planned that in 2025 the volume of production will exceed 5 thousand units of products. As noted by the department, this will be the first large-scale production of non-reducer winches in Russia.
Components manufactured in Engels will be supplied to the METEOR Lift plant in St. Petersburg. This enterprise was formed after the acquisition by the Russian holding S8 Capital of the assets of the world manufacturer of elevator equipment Otis, which left the Russian market due to Western sanctions. The same holding became the new owner of the former Engels enterprises Bosch.
The development of the production of a new type of product has allowed us to diversify the order portfolio, increase the stability of the enterprise and create several dozen new jobs. We plan to increase the staff by 35% to fulfill the production program in this and other areas of our activities, "said Sergey Zakora, CEO of METEOR Tech. |
Igor Mayorov, General Director of the St. Petersburg METEOR Lift plant, noted that the production of parts in Engels will make it possible to replace imported components and gradually achieve 100% localization in the production of elevators.
The Ministry of Industry and Energy of the region emphasizes the advantages of gearless winches: they are on average 1.5 times smaller, 2 times lighter and 10-20% quieter than gearboxes. In addition, they have 2 times lower vibration levels and about 1.5 times higher energy efficiency, which is especially true for high-rise buildings with intensive use of lifting equipment.
The agreement on the implementation of the investment project was signed by the Governor of the Saratov Region Roman Busargin and METEOR at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.[1]
