2020: Blocking of the cryptoexchanger

As it became known at the end of October, 2020, in Russia cases of blocking of cryptoexchangers became frequent. So, Roskomnadzor entered the website of the first in trade volumes Binance cryptoexchange to the register prohibited, and then — the service of exchange of the MINE.exchange cryptocurrencies, largest in the CIS.

According to RBC, such platforms are blocked because of use allegedly banned in the Russian Federation information on a possibility of acquisition of bitcoin, however turnover of cryptocurrencies in the country is not prohibited. Turnover of service sank approximately for 20-30% — the head of MINE.exchange company Steve Beat says, commenting on blocking of the cryptoexchanger. — We are completely autonomous service, and we do not store the and client means at the third-party exchanges / purses. In the publication of RBC it is said that, despite blocking of exchangers by Roskomnadzor upon the demand of prosecutor's office, services for purchase and sale of cryptocurrency work at the territory of the country absolutely legally. And since January 1, 2021, even after entry into force of the law on digital financial assets, and amendments to it if they by that moment are accepted, activity of exchangers will not be recognized prohibited, and their clients — criminals. Most likely, they just will remain not settled, and users will have to declare the digital money and announce transactions with them in tax, notes the edition.[1]
