The new stage of the theater is equipped with 84 mechanisms for changing scenery, modern lighting and sound systems, as well as a transformable orchestra pit. In the near future, the creative team will have to master the work with modern technical equipment. On the opening day, a joint concert of artists from St. Petersburg and Mariupol took place.

The head of the DPR Denis Pushilin said that the building has become a symbol of the revival of Donbass and a new center of attraction and inspiration. He stressed that the implementation of the project was carried out thanks to the integration of the region into Russia.

The restoration was carried out under the supervision of St. Petersburg, which is the twin city of Mariupol. The head of the construction company's site, Bogdan Volnenko, said that the dismantling of old structures began in 2022, and the main reconstructive and installation work was carried out in 2023. 250-300 specialists were involved in the restoration process.

The chief director of the theater, Sergei Musienko, said that after the destruction of the building, the troupe continued to work in other premises, giving free performances for residents of the city. According to him, the activities of the theater at that time were of important symbolic importance for Mariupol residents.

As of December 2025, the troupe had 30 actors, and the team is expected to expand. Artists are invited to tour in St. Petersburg.[1]
