2024: Ex-deputy head of the ministry accused of receiving a bribe in exchange for data from the GIS

In May 2024, the Investigative Department of the TFR in the Irkutsk Region announced a criminal case in which the former deputy head of the territorial department of the Ministry of Forestry for Cheremkhovsky Forestry is taking place.

According to the investigation, the 35-year-old ex-employee of Minles of the Irkutsk region (her name was not disclosed) in the period from July 2021 to January 2022 revealed to a third party personal information that is not subject to disclosure, about citizens with whom contracts were concluded for the sale and purchase of forest plantations for timber harvesting for their own needs. For committing illegal actions, the woman received a bribe in the form of funds totaling 75 thousand rubles.

It is clarified that we are talking about the transfer of personal data of forest buyers, which are contained in the automated information system "AVERS: Forest Fund Management." The bribe in exchange for classified information was given by a local entrepreneur, whose name was also not disclosed.

The system "AVERS: Forest Fund Management" is designed to comprehensively automate the activities of the executive bodies of state power of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in the field of forest relations, as well as their subordinate institutions (forestry, district forestry, etc.).

The former deputy head of the territorial administration of the Ministry of Forestry of the Irkutsk Region for Cheremkhovsky Forestry is accused of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (taking a bribe by an official). The investigation of this criminal case, initiated based on the materials of the FSB of Russia in the Irkutsk region, has been completed. It is submitted to the court for consideration on the merits.

In early April 2024, it also became known about the detention of the former Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Irkutsk Region. He is suspected of receiving and giving a bribe, as well as mediation in bribery.^[1]
